Q: The new Riposte map looks gorgeous -- wish I could live there! Are maps totally made-up or loosely based on real places?

A: The only "IRL" map in the game is Okinawa. For the others, the terrain is determined by the level designers for gameplay purposes, not just visuals. And thanks for the kind words; we’re happy you enjoy Riposte!

Q: What’s the general timeframe of a new ship line? How long does it take to go from the drawing board to the game?

Q:开发一条新线的时间是怎么分配的?从草图到时装需要多久?

A: It depends on the ship class -- a battleship model is more difficult to produce than a destroyer model -- not to mention the availability of reference material. Balance and fine-tuning can be different too, but this is a question of weeks, so that part of the process isn’t noticeable on a larger scale. In general, the whole process can last from six to 18 months.

A: Yes, we’d like to introduce Operations for different tiers. Chances are good you'll be able to use some new ships in future seasons.

Q: We knew about the "High School Fleet" ships for months before we saw them, but we only knew aboutEnterprisefor a couple weeks before release. What gives?

A: You’re right about the difference. Normally, we have a standard schedule for new ships and ship lines, but we gave early notice for the "High School Fleet" ones. We did this because the creators of HSF needed to announce the collaboration, and we wanted to get the information out alongside the announcement.

Q: Have you thought about addressing the high-tier firepower imbalance with bigger Fault Line-style maps? Big maps can limit long-range focus fire and force people to split up or lose. This makes for a greater number of smaller fights and increases the dependence on individual skill.

A: We realize the metagame has some problems, and maps can influence it, but we dont consider them that imbalanced. While some players ask for more cover and fewer "blobs," we believe that overdoing it may lead to what's basically another form of camping. We try to make maps different from each other and diverse enough.

Q: Any possibility to have battles or Scenarios based on Axis vs Allies ship lines?

A: Yes, if there's a lot of popular demand. We initially avoided it because it could impose more entry limitations on those who wish to participate, but such themed Scenarios are quite possible in the future.

Q: Can we get active UI feedback on spotting, damage blocked/dodged and bonuses for fighting in capture points? They'd help a lot in trying to figure out if you're helping the team.

A: That’s a very good idea, and we want to implement it too. We don’t know the exact update we’ll have it in, but we hope we’ll get there some day.

Q: When will tier VIII+ Japanese destroyers get a buff or unique national traits?

A: They already have good concealment, torpedoes with good speed and damage, potent HE shells, a low profile, and a Torpedo Reload Boost on some ships. On top of that,Akizukiis inherently unique by design.

Q: What happened to tier VII matchmaking? I used to be top- or mid-tier in all matches, now I'm almost exclusively at the bottom. Same with tier VIII -- I'm constantly fighting tier Xs! Am I missing something?

Q:7级船的分房怎么了?8级也是,原先天天班长房,现在天天壮丁房。你说我一个8级船怎么就进了10级房天天和大鲸大猴谈笑风生呢?

A: Over time, higher tiers get more and more populated, so shifts in the matchmaker comfort zone are inevitable. Nothing throws you in the bottom tier on purpose, and your overall position depends on the current player queue. We don’t want this process to ruin anyone's experience, so we keep an eye on tier distribution. There’s no emergency right now.

A:不是故意抓你壮丁的,实在是因为高级房玩的人越来越多。我们不希望这种情况会损害任何玩家的游戏体验,所以我们会持续关注这个问题的。现在还没有什么解决措施。

Q: The "Operations" tab promises a “hard mode” in the future. What variables will be used to make Operations harder? The number of ships, ship tiers, spawn locations…?

A: All that plus ship loadouts (modules, upgrades, consumables, signals and Commander Skills), AI intelligence, and the level of AI teamwork!
